Growing up on the streets, with no family, Nightwing learned to fend for himself. When he became an adventurer, two veterans named Garen and Foxface took him under their wing and taught him about adventuring and found family. From then Nightwing could be found adventuring and drinking with other adventurers of yore, calling Garen, Foxface, Hooded Man, Quinn, Link, Bane, Tim and others his friends and new found family. Often he was found on the frontline, tanking the enemy while his allies finished the final blows. Eventually he was blessed with the soul of a dragon and an angel.

After taking a hiatus to raise a family with his wife Shyvana, he set out to adventure again and earned the title Knight of Hell and contracted with the guardian angel Agiel. Now he has found his calling in helping other new adventurers like his mentors did for him.
