Only around 20 miles from the main city of Rougtero, serving as a sort of suburb, the small town of Fordshire is quite sleepy. While the city technically doesn’t fall under Rougtero’s jurisdiction, the town has collectively decided to act as if the town is in fact part of Rougtero, in the hopes that they may one day legally become a district of the city.
The two major landmarks of the town are the inn and the local Anubis temple. The inn is a common meeting place for people traveling to other parts of Lojem on foot. The Anubian temple, meanwhile, has one of the largest graveyards on the continent. Initially a small family cemetery, the place has grown quite a bit over the past few decades, fostered by the temple.
The community primarily focuses on farming, though the ground they work is made of the same red soil that plagues Rougtero’s few farmers, meaning the harvests are prone to failure during some years.
Overall, Fordshire is a struggling place trying its best to make itself work. In a world of grand adventurers filled with magic and monsters, Fordshire is a small, homely place that keep attention away from itself due to its small size. Perhaps that’s for the best.
