====== Factions of Jaern ======
This page details various organizations on Jaern which are not affiliated with any particular nation or city-state. The goals and moralities of these organizations can vary widely.

===== The Bathysmal Temple =====
This religious organization seems at first to be a temple resembling one of those of Jaernian orthodoxy. However, instead of one of the [[:gods|Fourteen]] or even an esoteric deity outside of this, they worship the [[lore:creatures:abysslings|Abysslings:]] strange, non-humanoid aquatic creatures which live in the depths of Jaern's oceans. 

They believe that all people on Jaern can be united in peace and harmony hunder the abysslings' collective consciousness, and seek to invade all land with the abysslings, assimilating everyone they can and eventually bringing all of Jaern beneath the fold. The Bathysmal Temple often masquerades as a sect of [[gods:neptune|Neptune]], drawing in followers with feats of magic before slowly indoctrinating them, and eventually assimilating them with tainted "communion".

As a smaller organization, most nations are not yet aware of the Temple's existence, or the threat they may pose.
