Adventurers needed to explore a strange world to try to figure out how to destroy the Grigori (Big Pink Crystals). Ask for EX

Plot Synopsis

The adventurers ask for EX and are once again teleported to a ship. They agree to explore the world they established a foothold on a few weeks ago.

After traveling for a while they come upon a row of Grigori floating in the air and spaced a few thousand feet apart. There is a shimmering in the air a few thousand feet before and behind this row. After crossing the shimmering the adventurers feel pretty crappy and lose all magical and healing capacity and all technological items requiring power cease functioning.

As they travel through this area they are attacked by black flying robots with taser like tails. The party gets pretty beat up and stunned repeatedly but eventually kills them all. Angela and Cal decide to hurry the rest of the way and split from the party.

Some 50' long flying black worms wait until just before Angela leaves the anti magic area to attack the very spread out party. Two of them against the main party die rapidly, but Angela and Cal are both grappled and bitten with poison repeatedly. Cal is grappled and cocooned and Angela is paralysed as the worms fly off with them as prisoner. Cal manages to shrink himself down and teleport to Jaern to escape his, but Angela is taken away.

The party eventually reaches a stationary tornado like wall of wind that is several thousand feet in radius and extends as far up as they can see. They can tell Angela is inside thanks to Devote, and after trying a few ways to get in, including sending a flying undead monkey into space, they circle around and notice a gap created by an archway of rock. Through the archway is a giant thousand foot wide moat whose bottom is so deep it can't be seen. There is a bridge that connects to the other side, where there is a 2 dimensional front of a castle.

The castle front has a pair of double doors that seem to go nowhere, but Angela also seems to be just on the other side of them. After they open, the party sees a large room where everything is black and white and many creatures in it are frozen immobile. Angela suddenly seems further away. The room also has a giant frozen pendulum and when Tanis touches it the colors return to the room and the creatures start moving. After a fight the party moves into the next room and finds Angela naked in a liquid filled tank with tubes shoved into her skull.

The party takes Angela back to the people who hired them and they manage to remove the tubes without killing her and she recovers thanks to Regeneration, but it takes a couple days. The party is paid for the valuable information they found and vow to come back for revenge and Angela's stuff. But they are also cautioned that it may be more difficult since the enemy probably knows most of what Angela knows.
