[Main CoTSS] Library Amongst The Stars IV (Cznerbog?, Pthora)

Plot Synopsis

Despite the chaotic incidents of the previous few days, the party found their lives falling into a mundane routine over the coming week. Through a combination of Legolass and Frogmann’s magic, they were able to determine the identity of the corpse in their possession. The young companion shielded by the weary-looking man they had met when they first awakened. The cherished daughter of Andromeda’s most prominent crime boss, whose life was shattered with the Revolution. Even as they came to her home to take her father to the gallows, he forced his second-to-command to flee with her alone, without so much as a proper goodbye. Desperately seeking shelter within the Library, a stroke of misfortune left her alone to be consumed by another’s paranoia and regret. Not knowing the location of her guardian, they had proceeded cautiously back into the Library, only to find it defined. What had once been an ever-shifting space settled into distinct layers covering distinct subjects: Dahabu’s legends and myths, and its cities and people. Only delving deeper, armed with new magic items courtesy of Aruna’s old merchant friend Hani, did they find something else.

The dead of night in a city blanketed with darkness. Accidentally alerting nearby patrolling guardsmen, the party enter a confrontation over their violation of the city-wide curfew. Without a clear idea of where they even arrived, Legolass is forced to silence the guards with a petrification spell. Their commotion only attracts more attention, as the party is forced to seperate to keep themselves hidden. But all hear the blast as it impacts the city, carrying along the scent of acrid smoke. Legolass and Frogmann find the streets around them turned into a raging battlefield, as steel clashes against steel. Only by pretending to be a father nursing his deathly ill son, are the pair able to escape to the nearby field hospital. Naoughwniey manages to take shelter amidst the rooftops, using his vantage point to follow the pair closely. Dandy hides in an deceript alleyway overrun with diseased overgrown rats. Nervousness over their feasting of rotting corpses, turns to active hostility as they look towards their next meal. With his fire breath, Dandy is able to escape and find shelter in an abandoned house alongside Pyrce. By various means, the party is able to escape the city, watching the city of Cznerbog fall under siege by the Reufang Army.
