Plot Synopsis
Tippi, Kavi, Charlie, NPC, Nico Rico, Aithne
Week 11 (9/19-9/25)
The week opened with Bert (Ol’bernmach) saying his goodbyes and helping Charlie rejuvenate her soul, or at least set her up to be able to do so. Polara and Haru went home, leaving the campaign for the time being. From Keer’levex, Aithne joined in! Aithne spent time flirting with Charlie and the rest of the party before they took a vote to go towards the volcano, stopping by some ruins on the way there, only out of the way by going south. At the ruins they found a barrier protecting a stone dome, surrounded by miles of lava flow. They were not able to penetrate the barrier in the end and decided to go after the dragon instead. They did determine the barrier consisted of a rank 11 spell, rank 16, and rank 18.

Week 12 (9/26-10/2)
The group gave up trying to get past the previous barrier, instead deciding on going to the volcano to see if they could parlay with the dragon there. They traveled across lava fields and up the mountain where they found Smaug the Magnificent. Smaug from the Hobbit had made the volcano himself, growing exponential in size. They did well navigating a tricky conversation until they told Smaug he wasnt good enough and Mal Ravenal was eviler, and to go fight. Smaug didnt take this well, igniting the volcano and threatening to burn down the nearby city of Boudain in 3 days if they didnt open the ruins for him. They group also paid him close to 12,000 gold in tribute and promised more.

Week 13 (10/3-10/9)
Adventurers traveled to the tower, where they successfully broke down the barrier with Tippi’s revoke effects, a revoke egg, and Charlie's countermagic. Inside, they found a bedroom, skipped that, went to a room with a garden, drowned it, before busting down a sandstone door and destroying an earth anchor crystal in the middle of the room. The mage who lives in the tower came through a secret staircase in the floor of the garden room, quite angrily. Demanding answers. They started trying to interrogate him, but he wouldnt give them an inch, demanding to know how they were going to fix this, and who they were. After getting very unsatisfactory answers from the party and no real solution on how this was going to be fixed, he DI’d and summoned Glasya, the penultimate aspect of hatred and evil.
This is where everything went wrong for party. They started to panic when they noticed the aura of the tower change and could hear someone coming from below. The mage elf told party to wait, and that she would ‘arbitrate’ the conversation and they did NOT have that. They bolted, and I the GM offered a PER check to see what Glasya looked like coming up the stairs, as its been one IRL year since the end of the previous campaign. I even warned them by saying the check was optional and dangerous. They ALL did this check, which caused 3 peoples souls to shatter, and Kavi to lose his soul entirely. Their minds are twisted, and borderline insanity.
As you all make your rapid exit, some being pulled on broomsticks, some making a mad dash for the exit, your curiosity gets the better of you. From your vantage point, looking down upon the opposing staircase, you see what could only be defined as a monster emerging from the deepest pits of hell. A black, oil slicked skin oozing with iridescent droplets of fiery light is the most 'real' thing you can make out about this being. Its body twists, shifts, and morphs as it approaches slowly. No walking motion to speak of, yet not unlike flight. Its not a slithering, yet not unlike that of a couatl. You catch a look, at what must be this thing's face, a place near the center, where a head should be, yet is only floating there, 666 gemstones of radiant glow. Each alight with a different form of energy, yet, they blink as you see them. Eyes, crystalline, and living. There is indeed life here, yet this is a life that is not alive, but not dead, nor undeath. It is, more. It is a shadow casting light upon this world. Is it both humanoid, yet everything about it screams on a primal level that it is hatred of humanity. ... Your mind completely snaps. There is no resistance check that can save you from even looking at this creature. What you see is so mind melting, that you feel your inner being. Your ego. Your soul. The sole piece of humanity that designates us as intelligent beings, separate from nature. The thing that unifies us, all races, as people and not beasts of the field, nor plants of the forest. It cracks as well, under the weight of this.. this... thing. What you see, what Bert said. What Polara felt. What Haru felt mentally. It can only be described as evil incarnate. For with the mind shattering, your soul cracking. Deep within there is a truth that comes to light. A wise man once said 'In the same way your heart feels and your mind thinks, you, mortal beings, are the instrument by which the universe cares.'. This would be the opposite, yet confirming its truth. This is the universe showing its hatred for you, for humanity, and for itself.
The week ended not long after they fled from the tower. Tail between their legs as the adventurers go for help. Regrouping in Boudain. NPC rejects Isis now and changes priesthoods to Quinn of the Vigil.
