Plot Synopsis
Written up by Co-GM: Jonathon Reilly
The attackers from House Azmahn attack the caravan. The artificer attacks the segment that the party is in. In the initial phase, the party fairly handily beats the cavalry attacking them, but a suicide bomber opens an additional flank by blowing up a cart on the rear of the wagon circle party is inside. The party also handily deals with the new enemies, as the air mage is killing them very easily. Seeing this, the artificer opens a mirror-portal inside the wagon circle. In response, Fih Tank casts Maelstroms 2 (Haar), which ends up obscuring the portal and the entire 40’ radius circle around the center of the wagon circle. Then, party loses initiative as 4 gunmen file out of the portal. They proceed to walk to the center of the circle where the spell no longer blocks LOS and then shoot Fih Tank and Magnus, knocking both unconscious and leaving Fih Tank dying. Because he was unconscious, Fih Tank could not cancel Haar, despite the fact that there were now 4 gunmen who were more or less in an unassailable position. Seeing their unwinnable situation, two of the party members attempt to DI to Isis. One of them succeeds, and the party is healed to full. Fih Tank drops Haar, allowing the party to finally see the enemies. During the enemies’ turn, one of the gunmen blinds Kallax. On his next turn, Kallax tries to target a beam at a line of enemies despite being blind. He gets a 5/100 on a high or low where he called high. The beam proceeds to hit and kill all the enemies as well as Magnus who is once again on low health. Magnus takes 25 damage which would instantly kill him. Three people attempt to DI, but unfortunately, only Fih Tank’s goes through. He DI’d to Neptune and asked “Please heal this person (Magnus), and also make them a fish.” Neptune responds, confused, and heals Magnus to full while also turning him into an anthropomorphic shark. Due to the artificer’s resilience, she is able to escape back through the portal she made just as Pharaoh Aten’s retinue is approaching the battlefield. The Pharaoh speaks with the party afterwards, the surviving attackers are executed, and the party is paid their rewards.
