[Intro CoTSS] Not a Place of Honor

Plot Synopsis

Party met in New Elhart City, where they met Juniper Kincaid, hummingbird avian and leader of the surveyor group that studies The Slab, a massive circular piece of basalt in the middle of the Aihtaraq Desert. Her team of three did not return after their yearly expedition and she asked party to travel to retrieve them. They traveled to the perimeter of warning signs, where they noticed tracks both around the perimeter and leading to the center. Following them to the center, they found a giant scorpion that had died seemingly of exhaustion while attempting to dig a hole. There was an amethyst draconic, Vincent Electura, inside and unconscious. After verifying that he was one of the surveyors, they sent him back, but kept his satchel with measuring tools and read his journal. The journal detailed notes from the past five years describing how the slab had begun to tilt, first a small amount but increasing exponentially, and how the giant scorpions were becoming more agitated. There were also strange leaves, with one taped in. Party traveled to the slab and found piles of dead scorpions who had been digging in the sand, causing the slab to tilt downwards. On the other side, they found a mass of green vines growing from under the slab and pushing it outwards. The leaves matched those in the journal. They found Fyrax Larke, another surveyor, tangled in the vines. Cosmos ate a leaf, which established a mental link between him and the Greenwarden, who asked him to come down into the vault with it. After Divorik, Veera, and one other (note: update when I remember) also ate leaves, they conversed with the Greenwarden, who refused to give up Fyrax. A short combat ensued until Veera negotiated a trade where they would give the Greenwarden Aidnik in exchange for Fyrax. After convincing the Greenwarden to release Fyrax, party fled. They spoke with Fyrax and learned there was one more surveyor before sending him back.
