Plot Synopsis

Book 3: The Honest Soul

Chapter I: The Adventurers and the Demoness

The party woke up in the middle of a forest around an extinguished campfire. They heard a disembodied voice known as the Storyteller who told them their goal was to Slay a Demoness who was in the basement of a House in the forest. Party questioned the Storyteller, and he was quite vague about the reasoning other than the Demoness would destroy the world if she escaped. Party eventually decided to go free the Demoness in the basement. They left their weapons upstairs and headed down a lantern-lit staircase. The Demoness had a soothing voice and said she had not had visitors in ages. She couldn't remember much of how she got there, but all she knew was that she had been down there. Alone. Kessel cut off the Demoness' hand that was chained to the wall to free her with a clean slice of their talon, and he used bronze flames to immediately cauterize the wound. The Storyteller tried to fortify the door to the basement to prevent them from escaping, but Kessel made a request to the Flame of Rebirth to empower them, but it was too much power for Kessel's body to handle. The Demoness was devastated, but party helped her escape the basement and out into the world. However, the world is not what the party found. As they opened the door to the outside, they were met with a void of nothingness, and their world went dark.

Chapter II: The Damsel

The party woke up in the middle of a forest around an extinguished campfire. They heard a disembodied voice known as the Storyteller who told them their goal was to Slay a Demoness who was in the basement of a House in the forest. Party questioned the Storyteller, and he was quite vague about the reasoning other than the Demoness would destroy the world if she escaped. The party decided to completely ignore the Storyteller and free the demoness (uwu). The demoness said that the power of true love would help them escape (nya). Party was unsure about this since many of them did not feel the same way about the demoness (some of party was aro/ace... nya). She was correct, and, with the help of party, she was able to slip her chains without being harmed (kawai). The door to the basement shut behind them and locked, but the power of true love was enough to set them free (uwu). The party walked outside of the House and started planting flowers. The Demoness decided to show Party just how much she loved them, and ripped her own ribs open, causing a cracking and bloody mess. She exposed her own beating heart to Party, and everything went dark.

Epilogue: Happily Ever After

The party woke up inside a mansion with glistening walls and elaborate tapestries. This mansion was fit for royalty. They rp-ed with the Storyteller, who was completely thrown off by what is happening. Everything is... wrong. Party tells the Storyteller that they could sail to the ice wall due south, and successfully DIed for a boat to appear. They then asked the Storyteller to create water out 'there', and it began raining inside and out. Once the water got to about 5 feet, Party asked the Storyteller for it to stop raining inside. Party goes to the door to the basement and finds that they lead up instead of down. Curious, they leave their weapons and go up the velvety carpeted stairs to find the Demoness sitting at the end of a dining table. She invites them to eat, and some of them dig in (Kessel, being unable to eat, could not experience it fully). It was the best meal they had ever had. Party then proceeded to play a few games and chat with the Demoness. They noticed a Shadow behind the Demoness and found out that it was the embodiment of a voice inside the Demoness' head. Party was able to take the Demoness outside of the mansion, and sailed away on the boat. She asked Party if they could dance with her under the starlight, and they began to dance. As they did so, the Demoness revealed that she knew Party didn't love her the way she loved them, and Cherry Blossoms began sprouting and spreading from where her heart is. She continued to dance until all but her head was covered in Cherry Blossoms. At last, she smiled at each and every one of the people with her on the boat, and the world went dark.
