The Day Has Come! The Night Is Passing! Silmarillion Game - Verse 9: Orchestral Symphony
Plot Synopsis
Having slain the Spiders that plagued the Teleri by threatening their northern border, Doriath’s safety from imminent attack was secured, allowing Thingol and his Sindar to dedicate their full focus to the alliance of the Free Peoples against the hordes of Morgoth. The party’s dedicated efforts in their defense finally swayed the last of the nobles who were reticent, and convinced them to commit to a full alliance with the Noldor and focus on ending the ill-will between their peoples. The Sindar then marshalled their full host, and alongside Thingol, Galadriel, Celeborn, and others, they marched out in full force from Doriath to war, as had never happened before in the history of Middle Earth, especially to meet up with the Noldor no less.
Barad Eithel had been chosen as the logical rallying point for the full alliance, as its purpose as the seat of the High King had always been to be the furthest-forward stronghold of the Elves, defending the rest of the Elven realms and closest poised for the fated push against Morgoth. Therefore the party returned to Barad Eithel from where they had set off, returning in triumph at the heads of two Elvish armies, that of Fëanor who had met them along the road, and that of the Sindar. They were all welcomed by Fingolfin, who was beyond pleased that they had managed to both secure the aid of all the Free Peoples as well as reconcile him with his estranged brother and cousins and various extended family. Naturally, a great feast was held as the people celebrated both the victory so far, as well as the greater one which was inevitable now that the Morgoth no longer had the divisions between the Elves to shield him from their wrath. The leaders were invited to the main Throne Room once more, and the council chambers were filled with the leaders of each of the peoples that yet resisted Morgoth for the first time.
The party then went off to acquire all the gear they would need and made the plans for their assault.
