Plot Synopsis
Group 1 negotiates with Gardner for the location of a magic item craftsman. Suddenly they hear an explosion. Group 2 hears the explosion (they don’t hold their breath), Thomas peeking down to investigate the commotion. An outright brawl between the Savoie Mob and Poison Spur. Poison gas starts slowly suffocating the party. Group 1 agrees to help Gardner's escape through an escape tunnel to a nearby safehouse. They encounter a few Poison Spur members but incapacitate a few with Sleep Bombard and a Kali - Atlas Wombo-Combo. Group 2 starts negotiating with the Poison Spur, agreeing to sabotage the smuggling operation of the Savoie Mob in exchange for getting the antidote to the poison. As Group 1 begins to escape, they are confronted by members of the Eternal Blazing Sun Inquisition, Angelo and Mirabelle. They have negotiations with the inquisition and are asked to hand over Gardner Martin. They agree and enter custody. Meanwhile Thomas is being a sociopath for some reason, decapitating and chokeing, dying Savoie Mob members. The Inquisition breaks into the main building and the Poison Spur are forced to retreat and run away to District 6 and begin planning their ambush on the Savoie Mob’s smuggling route. Group 1 continues to talk with the Inquisition on what to do next, but gets into a bit of an argument. They head back to the headquarters of the Inquisition to make plans and get ready to handle the smuggling operation of the Savoie Mob. Group 1 talks about their plan to stop the ritual and why they need the marionette from the Savoie Mob. Group 2 finishes their plans, as they disguise themselves as members of the Poison Spur and get prepared to ambush the smuggling operation. Group 1 moves with the Inquisition (after receiving supplies and powers), setting up positions around Hi Vine Street. Kali, Sylva, and Atlas form a group with Alexis as they patiently wait for the clock to hit 5 PM. The clock strikes 5 PM and everyone sees the Savoie Mob bring in the artifact as chaos ensues. Those carrying the box however, seem to be unaffected by the chaos and continue to carry the artifact. Penelope, the leader of the Inquisition, gets lethally poisoned by the Poison Spur leader, but still refuses to withdraw from the fight. Bubbles meets up with Alexis and the group coordinates the group effort. They manage to stop the transport and secure the artifact. However they are unable to stop the lethal poison that Penelope suffered. Penelope dies and her Beyonder characteristic is taken away by the leader of the Poison Spur. As the Inquisition and Church of the Fool mediate the transfer of the Marionette, the party is drawn into the Grey Fog and convene with Temperance. She highlights the dangers of consuming them now, but also stresses the dangerous circumstances that may necessitate extraordinary powers.
