Plot Synopsis

Party was led to a conference room with dragon hide chairs and a crimson-tinted window that looked out upon the Moonshadow Draught. The party talked with Dr. Vortex about what he does with the research and how he gains the funding for the machines and labor. He discussed certain partners he had, and Stan recognizes a gnome named Chuckles. Stan told Dr. Vortex about the nefarious deeds of Chuckles, so he had him removed from the Laboratory. Party was then led to the processing room where the Moonshadow Draught was being extracted and turned into various products. Even the byproducts of the initial procedures were being researched to find a use and tested in separate mini projects. Afterwards, they went to a room with numerous vats with sentient, living creatures inside being kept alive through magical and scientific means. These test subjects had signed contracts and were here consensually, but they were living past their time to die as judged by Anubis. Reese talked to Dr. Vortex about the ethical dilemma of keeping these volunteers alive and eventually convinced him to kill those who it was their time or past their time. They then conversed about the loafs and wondered if there were any loafs in the laboratory which Dr. Vortex said there were none in the laboratory (Psychology check by Reese found out this was true). Dr. Vortex told party he knew of a place where loafs were, and Pronto understood the directions of how to get there. As they go outside to leave, a Temporal Wind blows Isurn, Bard, Stan, and Pronto's niece 14 hours into the future. While they are gone, a Volant Mistral began to lift the rest of party off of their feet, giving them magical flying of extreme speeds. Once the rest of party got back together after fast traveling, they decided to take a rest. They awoke to a Blacksleet Storm with no way to get out. They struggled against the negative energy, but did find a way to create shelter in the side of a cave wall and seal it up through the use of magic, but not before some of them began to feel drained from the storm. After the Blacksleet passed, party stepped out to an Empyrean Sky. These gold and rose imbued clouds invigorated the party as they continued on, though Kyroshi and Isurn were driven insane by an Aberrant Sky appearing on the way. However, they were able to recover their sanity through the nonlethal pureeing of their internal organs. They eventually found their way to a clearing, where a double Empyrean Sky was present, empowering the future heroic deeds of the party.
