Plot Synopsis
The full party goes to the bank to exchange for some money and get recommended to go to the Golden Thread to get some clothing for the party. They stop by some food stalls along the way and Mr. Sims sees two thugs attacking a man named Larry. Mr. Sims scares them away, but is unable to save Larry’s life, instead he raises him as an undead and tasks him to find more corpses. Zaphani hides in the shadows and watches Sims as this occurs. They then head to the Golden Thread in Quartier 15. They purchase the clothes for 100 verl d’or from the store, some hats, and masks. Zaphani also buys an umbrella. They then head to Red Swan Castle to see the new paintings of the lord. At the castle they hear of the Excalibur club when high society gathers. Mr. Sims has a conversation with Lord Bartholomew Badlesmere who tells them more about the party being held by the Bliss Society. They go to the theatre and speak with one of the dancers named Charlotte, who tells them of the owner Susanna and also lets them know that they may get an invitation from those in charge of the security detail. As the show begins, part of the party is enthralled by the show and Zaphani memlocks all the performers. J.I.M. leaves the party and goes to gamble. While J.I.M. is gambling, and losing, he manages to secure a job working as security at the party for Mr. Sims. The party then follows J.I.M. back to the gambling den, and they manage to secure contracts for Kali and Atlas as well. They are then told to meet at the venue in Quartier 8 tomorrow to get some training and their identification. Afterwards they head to the Breezy Ballroom to meet with Gardner Martin and discuss the possibility of a job. After discussing Gardner's unique paintings, the party is able to score six invitations to the ball. The party aims to look for and collect evidence of Poison Spur members. Sylva investigates a church near a river for signs of tampering/sabotage. Mr. Sims has a poison dagger now. The party investigates a ship associated with the Poison Spur, trying to remain hidden from dockworkers loading the ship. They engage in a fight with the Poison Spur at the dock, and start by turning the whole ship invisible. Bubbles manages to convince those on the ship that they are the new captain and the rest of the party fights with the remaining members of the Poison Spur. They eventually clear out the Poison Spur members and Bubbles finds a Beyonder item aboard. Bubbles controls the currents and crashes the boat into the loading dock.
