[Dirge of the Depths] A Festive Mind: Episodes 7-8 Finale

Plot Synopsis

The party spends a good amount of time preparing and putting together a plan to fight the final boss which has now summoned them to a temple in hopes of talking with the party. After upgrading their gear and coming up with a plan to lure enemies outside, they approach, only to find nothing around. When they enter, the BBEG is before them, and begins talking to Kessel and asking them about their thoughts as, unlike the rest of the party, he had not see Kessels mind. Shortly thereafter, the fight begins, with the party rescuing individuals on the ground as multiple abysslings begin to enter the temple.

After fighting through the wave, rescuing the civilians around, and dealing enough damage to the boss, the second phase begins as the party is once again trapped in their own mindscapes, this time with each party member having an element of their past attempting to kill them. Those that defeat theirs are able to breach into the other minds and provide support for the others, until they are all grouped up and break free.

After they are free, they go to fight the BBEG once again, only to find that he now transforms into a large scale abyssling monster, entering phase three. The party then fights this boss that has a significant amount of party wide damage, AoEs and more, bringing the party low as they take out major chuncks of the bosses DP. When all seems lost with victory just out of grasp, the Old Avian appears once more to cheer them on, giving them each maximum temp DP. This small boost of survivability allows the party to finish off the BBEG, ending the current abyssling presence within the town. With this, the game reaches its conclusion as the party parts ways.
