AbyssDivers 10 [Dirge of the Depths Main Arc] (Jaern Oceans)
Plot Synopsis
The combined party encounters the perpetrator behind the Abyssling invasion of Geleia, the Ocean Mother ‘primordial goddess of Abysslings’. In order to free the Leviathan psionically controlled by the Ocean Mother, the party bashes her parasitic brain with an experimental battering ram dubbed ‘The Migraine’.
The party is forced to divide their attention between shattering the crystals, maintaining a psionic barrier around the brain and preparing ‘The Migraine’. All the while, assailed by a constant threat. Surrounded by a never-ending swarm of smaller Abysslings, petrified by greater Abyssling warriors, and harassed by an Engram of the Ocean Mother herself.
Though forced to ‘KNEEL’, ‘RUN’ and ‘PRAY’, the party is able to overcome the Ocean Mother’s commands. With great sacrifice, the Ocean Mother’s connection is severed and the all-out invasion halted. The party emerges with help of the Leviathan to find a battered but still-standing Ailwein, and receive a hero’s welcome from the town.
