Plot Synopsis
With a resounding crash, a single blow from the Kraken shatters Melmack’s protective barrier, piercing through an unsuspecting Saibin’s body. Without any time to react, the Kraken retrieves Saibin’s corpse, leaving the party alone in the crater. Left in eerie silence, the party spots a strange figure in the distance. The lone Speaker of the Deep. Communicating psionically, the Speaker voices the Hive’s displeasure, and admonishes the party for taking Isaac. The re-animated corpses of assimilated victims emerge, including Saibin, Anabella, and other deceased members of the Expeditionary Force, to forcibly take him back.
Though initially overwhelmed by the Abyssling’s onslaught, the party is saved by a supply drop from John Seabass, allowing them to overcome their old foes at great cost. In the aftermath, Malthus, Khemoloch, and Okrana are revived (Free Isis Rez) in a rare show of generosity from Mr. Man. He also provides the party with a sphere of malleable magic energy (APO9 Magic Item) for the upcoming battle ahead. Right on cue, the lift back to the surface finally descends onto the ocean floor. The other party is also okay, sword dog.
