A Mad Land Indeed

Plot Synopsis

The adventurers found themselves teleported to a house in a small Vervish village. Upon exiting, they met their hirers, Marlon and Lena, who explained that something (quite possibly related to the dreaming) has been turning their village and the nearby forest into an odder, more chaotic version of itself. The adventurers proceeded into the forest, where they found a series of three walls with doors of them. The last pair of doors were sapient, one of them always lied, and one always told the truth. Lakoth performed some much needed housekeeping, which was appreciated. The adventurers were allowed through without incident, bringing them to a section of the forest filled with mushrooms and vibrantly colored frogs. One distant mushroom has a tag on it that reads "Eat Me", prompting Mags and Lakoth to take a bite. A staircase of mushrooms leads the adventurers into a door in a cliff face. As they climb, Brian gets hit with a frog, resulting in a "twink!" noise, and Junior briefly jumps off of the mushrooms, resulting in him getting accosted by several heterosexual frogs. They descend a staircase into the cliff and ultimately end up underground, where they solve a set of riddles, ultimately creating a brew that feeds a statue of a frog. Kyrae samples the brew; it is disgusting. The frog statue opens another door that ultimately leads back to the house the adventurers started in, where the floor has been turned into a giant chessboard and Lena stands in wait. She reveals herself to be a fae, and initiates a battle with the adventurers where movement is limited by chess rules. Since Brian is not mobile on his own, she grants him the body of a twink. Not long into battle, Lena stops, claiming she is bored, and that what she was doing here was not nearly as entertaining as she hoped. She leaves, turning everything back to normal with the exception of Brian, who is left with a body. Marlon thanks and pays the adventurers, and Brian removes himself from his body using one of Marlon's kitchen knives.
