[Dirge of the Depths] Game 8, Devon, Geleia, Jaern
Plot Synopsis
After coming to another food bunker, the group stops to examine the food, with Otis detecting anything relating to abysslings. They detect that the food is tainted, and the party moves on, briefly tripping a trap and killing a weak abyssling pud. They proceed through the dungeon, coming into battle with a returning foe, Cressa, and a couple abyssling mooks. Cressa targets Otis, taking revenge for earlier slights, and Otis lands the killing blow, teleporting her upper half into the stone ceiling, killing her instantly. While the rest of the party finishes the battle, Otis stumbles off, "Rilo" following. The party hears two gunshots ring out, and by the time they get over there, Otis is unconscious, bleeding out, and "Rilo" surrenders without much of a fight. The party interrogates the imposter, getting barely any info, before Otis, having been healed by Osyka, shoots him multiple times.
Phish then leads the party through the dungeon, and the party is able to avoid any other pitfalls or traps laid by the cult, before finally coming upon the real Rilo, unconscious with a large grey wild cat guarding him. Jessie befriends the cat, and the party wakes Rilo, and begins discussing their plans for the future.
