The Abyss Which Stares Back [Dirge of the Depths] 9

Plot Synopsis

The session started out with the party leaving the Onivero’s nest, then went on to a debate about making an air bubble for Roche. After that was done, they headed back to Depth while talking about chopping heads off. When they arrived back at the Dome of the city, they noticed it was surrounded by Abysslings, so they rushed through the gaps of the Abysslings' encirclement, safely getting inside without contact. When they get inside, they meet up with Depth-speaker and talk with them for a bit. During this conversation, the breaking of a lamp in the sea was brought up, causing Mikke to intimidate Roche as reparations for the act. After the conversation with Depth-speaker Bard sends a few messages, first to a random person named Rickadora and then, realizing that Bard sent it to the wrong person, the party got him to, spent some time sending messages to Ryllae, getting some salt sent down to the city through a shiny container, and progressing with the trade agreement. After this, most of the party went back to Depth-speaker, attempting to perform a trade deal, while leaving Bard back in the home they were staying in, and Chad and Roche went to some farmers to help them out. While that was happening, Chad and Roche helped out with some of the farm work, and Chad spent an hour of that time trying to teach them a Zepherenite workout schedule, and then both were brought to an alleyway with 3 of the farmers and 2 people in there to get a request for salt as they were abyssling infected. While this was happening, Depth-Coral went through the same with Bard requesting salt due to getting infected. With some agreements set promising to help the infected and informing Depth-speaker they would be receiving some salt, the party got back together and got Depth-Scale and Depth-Fish to distract the Abysslings while they got the shiny container and then rushed back into the Dome with Bard and Emil distracting the Abysslings. When they got back inside with the salt container, they tried to sneakily take half the salt for themselves and then sell off the rest of the salt to Depth-speaker for 40g worth of gems. After this trade, they went out giving the salt to those who requested it from the party cause 3 onivero passed out due to pain damage from chugging the salt. With all the requests they had completed, they decided to get some rest and go back to Depth-Kelps' home. The party suddenly get awakened by pounding at their door. Depth-Coral informs them that Depth-Hunter is dead, according to Depth-Speaker. Moments later, the dome starts cracking, and more Abysslings than have been seen are surrounding the city, trying to break the dome. Depth-Coral explains that people are trapped without necklaces, and at the party’s request, organizes some guards via hivemind to start gathering civilians into a safe location. While doing so, the party also suggests connecting with Depth-Speaker as well, but they apparently were disconnected from the hivemind. As the party leaves to deal with the chaos, they see Depth-Speaker on a building, not wearing their typical robes, and very clearly Turned.
