The Day Has Come! The Night Is Passing! Silmarillion Game - Part 5
Plot Synopsis
After the victory in the previous fight, Fëanor gathered up his forces as well as the Teleri and immediately organized a feast and celebration to commemorate their victory. Notably, in the fight, a troll had been about to smash a Son of Fëanor with its club, before a Teleri soldier had jumped in the way. This protected Fëanor’s son at the cost of the Teleri soldier being injured. Having noticed this, Fëanor had bowed to the Teleri alongside his sons, refusing to be dishonored by continuing a grudge with those who had saved his family. Thus at the celebration, the party were given a position of honor, as was the Teleri soldier who had recovered with the help of medics. Noldor instrumentals and Teleri vocals could be heard in combined songs of the history and pride of the Elves, as Zaria was asked to play a song she had composed back in Barad Eithel, to the joy of the listening Elves.
At one point during the feast, Fëanor turned to the party at the high table and through gritted teeth which he was careful not to show to avoid disrupting the joyful atmosphere of the Elves, challenged the party on why they had allowed a primordial fire demon to escape, and towards the Elven heartlands no less. The party answered that they had seen an opportunity to solve the problem in a way other than killing the Balrog, by exploiting it’s hesitation to continue serving Morgoth to convince it to turn its desire for strength to fighting him instead. Fëanor was unconvinced that a being that had chosen to serve the creator of all evil could be turned so, even after the party assured him they could keep it from harming another Elf. Fëanor in the end decided that while he would not start any fights right when a major conflict had just been ended, he would not continue sharing his camp with the party who had allowed one of the beings that nearly killed him and his son, and insisted they leave after the feast with any damage caused by the Balrog would be on their hands. Quinn, insulted, insisted Fëanor would need to learn to be a better man before leaving the feast immediately, with the party following shortly after.
