The Day Has Come! The Night Is Passing! Silmarillion Game - Part 2
Plot Synopsis
The party rested the night in Barad Eithel, where they were given ornate quarters matching the grandeur and ornateness of the rest of the Noldor crafts. Quinn, needing no sleep, preferred to spend most of her time in the market, speaking to the Elves carrying on their trades at night. Through this, she learned much of the Elven customs, traditions, histories, and languages. In the morning, fine horses were brought to them, which had been reared in Valinor where the Noldor had used to live before following Morgoth to Middle Earth after his attack on the Two Trees. With Quinn’s magic making them faster and Zaria’s magic making them able to fly, Glorfinmandur was able to find that they were very eager to set off via his ability to communicate with them.
Following their plan to first to speak with Fëanor, whose deeds were considered the catalyst for the Elven tensions, the party set off towards his territory in the west. This required them to cross through Dorthonion, the territory of the sons of Fingolfin’s younger brother Finarfin. While crossing through this land, they travelled mostly on the ground, as the region bordered the flat plains of Ard-Galen which were within sight of Morgoth’s fortress in Thangorodrim and might give Morgoth knews of their arrival. While passing through, they were stopped by sentinels of the House of Finarfin, who brought them to Aegnor and Angrod, Finarfin’s sons. Upon hearing of their plan, the sons of Finfarfin were not very pleased with the party going to speak to Fëanor, and asked them not to return to their lands until they had completely guaranteed Fëanor return to the fold. They then continued on, coming upon sight of Fëanor and his followers enacting the first stage of the offensive against Morgoth (which they had come to join). Joining him in the fight, the party this won Fëanor initial respect.
