The Day Has Come! The Night Is Passing! Silmarillion Game - Part 1

Plot Synopsis

The party, besides Glorfinmandur, began spread across their various worlds, such as Jearn, Cahyali, Greece, etc. Then, while they were traveling about their business, they found themselves in various ways brought away from the worlds they knew, and to a place that was not truly in any world. Quinn and Zaria began in Greece, near Quinn’s temple, where Quinn felt a divine presence requesting her aid, which she accepted. Zaria was near the temple as well, when she was brought along by Quinn to accompany her. Groton was traveling the lands looking for mercenary work, when one of the nights got extremely dark and when the light returned, he was somewhere else. Similar events unfolded for the rest of the party. They all then found themselves in a place called the Timeless Halls, where they were met by Eru Illúvatar, the creator of the realm known as Middle Earth, and a being whose features they could not remember once they took their eyes off him for they slipped through their memory like water through their fingers. One by one, he gave them a speech explaining how the world of Middle Earth had many potential futures, which he showed them, some positive and full of joy and peace, and some negative and full of war and devastation. The threat of the Dark Lord Morgoth hung like a sword over them, which could either tip the scales one way or another. One by one, they were asked if they would answer the call to go to Middle Earth to ensure the Elves and the right side vanquished Morgoth, which they agreed to.

Glorfinmandur, who was a native of Middle Earth, was in Gondolin when one of the Great Eagles of Manwë arrived with a missive, requesting him to go to the court of High King Fingolfin in Barad Eithel. King Turgon gave his permission, so he set out at once.

The rest of the party were then all transported through a portal, which opened a short distance above a truly breathtakingly beautiful land, covered in pristine snow. They landed, and immediately noted that this land simply felt wholesome and benevolent, as though its guardians were attuned to it and cared for it well. They they noticed an extremely ornate and beatiful city shortly ahead of them, which had also noticed them as banners were raised and horns blown. The party gathered together as riders from the city came towards them, Glorfinmandur at their head. The riders informed them that they were expected by High King Fingolfin, who wished to speak with them.

Inside the city, it was even more dazzling than before, as every inch of it was a masterwork of the artisanship of the High Elven Noldor. In the throne room of the High King, Fingolfin first discussed their origins with them, revealing a tense relationship with the Valar (gods of Middle Earth) due to their past refusal to help when the Elves went to war against the Morgoth. When asked by the party how best they could help, he explained that the Elves already had Morgoth under siege, so that was not the main problem. More so it was the disunity among the Elves caused by Fingolfin’s brother Fëanor slaying Teleri Elves, which caused the Teleri to distance themselves from all the Noldor. Being given a letter by Fingolfin for Fëanor due to his desire for reconciliation, the party were asked to first speak to the proud Fëanor to get him to agree to work with the rest of the Elves, which would help convince the Teleri to join them as well.
