The Abyss Which Stares Back [Dirge of the Depths] 6

Plot Synopsis

The session started with the party getting through the barrier and subsequently being powdered by salt as Onivero threw some salt on them to ensure they were not abysslings. After being hit, some of the members attempt to lick up the salt, and Roche is excused for reacting to the salt thanks to depth-coral and depth-shell. After a bit of time, the leaders of the oniveros depth-speaker and a few other people of power come to meet the party and question their intent of being down there. The party first tells them that they were hired by the Gelean country, and then realized that they lied, and then corrected themselves, stating they were there to create a trade route with a trading company they were hired by. The party then makes an agreement to help them out with their abyssling problem in exchange for setting up the trade route, then immediately asks to borrow a place for rest and is brought to one that was quickly cleaned out for them to stay in there. Once they are their bard tries to update Ryallae on the situation, mostly just telling her that they’re surrounded and want reinforcements. She offers to hire more if they take lower pay, thenBard only relays to the party that they’re not getting help. After this conversation, they realized they had to waste some time before they could actually rest again, so they scavenged through the house, finding a card with a sticker that says “Kelp property” as well as a few other items. After getting bored in the house, the party went to explore outside the house with the supervision of some guards. Roche gets a checkup, learns that salt tablets and creativity helps to stave off infection, Mikke helps farming kelp in the tanks, Bard plays music with some onivero, and Pix and Mikke (poorly) weave baskets. After spending time with those activities, the Party gets seaweed salad with fish to eat, or eats their rations, and then heads back into their building and gets some rest. After resting for a bit, the party met up with the leaders of the city once more, and they gave them a job to attack a nest of abysslings. As a part of the job, they were given some equipment, and then depth-hunter, brought them along with him as they started heading to the nest, while the other onivero where used as a distraction so they could get out, which is the end of the session.
