Plot Synopsis
Party started the session by getting up the tavern and starting the day off with some food. They groused about their new companion, Borelock Polmes, with Atirathi insisting on wanting to set him on fire. Outside, they meet Borelock (aka Mr. Polmes) and he tells them that Damian Queery, the sewer manager, has sent them a message that morning about wanting to meet them to tell them that he discovered more details on the creatures they fought in the sewers.
They head out to Damian's home and it is locked, the blinds closed, all windows and doors locked tight. They try to find their way in, discovering footprints in the back garden. They eventually lockpick the door after discovering that Tempest does, in fact, have lockpicks on their person. Inside, they find the place trashed and quickly discover that an altercation occurred with three people knocking on the door, a person, presumably Darian, opened the door and was quickly subdued by the attackers.
They look throughout the home, finding a journal written by Darian about his travels throughout the sea's in his youth. The diary tells of his story as a captain of a ship, bestowed upon him by his father, and his daring and interesting tales. One such entry tells of him meeting a strange mamilian guy of a race that lived underwater (omnivero but he didn't know that) and how that fellow told him of "sea monsters" far far below in the depths and how they were an "ever-present scourge" to his kind. He told him of his battles before changing the subject to lighter topics. The diary also contained information from more recent, of how there were underwater caves connected to the sewers. After that, Borelock collected some burned papers from the fireplace which party insisted on reading later not now.
When they left the house, they were promptly beset upon by assassins and quickly fought them off, but sustained a casualty, Nemu lightfin died of poison, and party began to rush him to a priest of Isis...
