[Dirge from the Depths] Game 4, Devon, Geleia, Jaern
Plot Synopsis
Having entered the deep prison underneath the Trade Barons' Center, the party encounters a pair of "Neptunians" stepping out of a portal. Otis points a gun at them after they fail to answer how they knew the party wasn't a threat to them, which is only diffused by the rest of the party. One of the priests, a woman named Cressa, slips a tracker onto Otis without anyone but Rilo noticing. The party gets all 30 prisoners out of the portal and step out themselves. Once the portal closes, the bomb that Feare planted inside the trade center blows up, destroying the trade center. 3 more Neptunians are on the beach, tending to the now freed prisoners, and they keep the party from questioning the prisoners too deeply. Rilo loudly confronts Cressa, and Jessie points a gun at her in response. After diffusing the situation again, the party goes with the group to their safehouse, an unassuming beach shack that is Hammerspace. The party splits, with Rilo, Jessie, Osyka, and Eph going to question Cressa further about the group, learning that they are pacifists that just help out because they feel the pull to, but don't have the manpower to actually stop the results from happening. She also reveals they knew the location by planting trackers on potential victims of kidnapping. Jessie then splits. Otis and Feare go to snoop about, breaking into the High Bishop's office, learning his name is Yennan Adders, and steal incriminating documents. Eph and Vulvenaar have a conversation with the oldest kidnappee who has remained in the safehouse, and learns that the entirety of the kidnapped stay because it is the most stable and safe right now, and that they don't want their families knowing where they are to keep their families safe. Osyka goes to bed, and so does Zaphani. The rest of the party discusses the documents, and sets up a trap on the beach for the sermon the next day. Eph and Rilo stay in the living room, taking shifts, and both note that Cressa stays up almost the entire night.
Finally, the next morning, the party all either join the group on the beach or set up their attack trap, and watch as Yennan Adders, in his sunday best, steps into the freezing cold waters of Devon, and turn to the mass to begin sermon.
