Plot Synopsis
Party leaves the sewers after getting paid. Outside, they encounter Borelock Polmes, who attempts to hire the party to "overthrow the government". Party instead decides to meet him the next day and takes a rest at an inn. In the morning, party sees an official looking job post at the inn asking for help in investigating a case. After spending the day shopping, party decides to head to the location posted on the paper. At Wilson's Detective Agency, the party talks to Just Wilson and his partner Borelock Polmes about the specifics of the job. After signing a contract, party decides to work with Wilson's Detective Agency to investigate the government.
Borelock brings a large board to the streets and starts advertising conspiracy theories about the government, and is shut down by an official walking by. Party then heads to the main government building, but is not allowed in, and are directed to the library for information. At the library, party makes discovers that there have been a suspiciously high number of missing persons cases recently, and decides to investigate their last seen locations. They then head to the guard headquarters, where party requests documents for an investigation. However, party is told to wait for the guard captain to return, at which point the party decides to leave. Before leaving, Atirathi talks to a guard they previously encountered, and learn about a very recent missing persons case, and are given the location where they were last seen.
Party heads to the docks, where this person was last seen, and knock on a local's door to ask for information. Martha, the resident of the home, tells the party some information on the missing person, including his occupation working at the docks. Party then heads to the docks and asks Old John about some information on the missing person. After acquiring some more information, party decides to submerge a chunk of abyssling meat obtained from the sewers in the harbor to see if any creatures will be attracted to it. After an hour and 30 minutes, the party reels in a medium-large fish, which they capture and put in a sack with water. Party then decides to set the other chunk of abyssling meat as bait to see if anything will be attracted to it once again. Passing the night, nothing suspicious occurs, and the party returns to the inn at the start of the morning.
