Plot Synopsis
The party engages in a pitched battle against the strange abyssling they found. Interestingly, it seems to have been intelligent enough to cast full psionics. Ultimately, they overcome it, and much of the black corruption around the immediate area disappears. The abandoned Onivero village they found before was one of the parts cleared up.
The party heads back, finding that the Storm's Empress has moored next to the abandoned village. They see firelight from inside the village, and find an ice mage named Eva. She seems friendly, but tired and sick. Kelp deduces that she is in the middle stages of abyssling infection, and she admits it's true and she plans to die here.
They discover Eva is a member of the Centralian military, who deserted when she discovered she had been intentionally infected and sailed into the seas to turn and die. She asks Serena to kill her, if it comes to it, and she agrees. Until then, she promises to travel with the party and assist them.
