Crystal Chronicles: Advent of Materia
Plot Synopsis
An 8 week long PBP. Party was sent to a peaceful world, almost as if they were in the afterlife. After some exploration, party heard the cries of some creature in the distance. Heading there, party encountered a Behemoth and Mog, a moogle friend who was being attacked. Party engaged in combat, saving Mog. After a few rounds, the Behemoth summoned a meteor to destroy party. Before they could stop in, a shadow cloaked figure arrived, teleporting the creature and themself away. Seeing that the meteor hadn't disappeared, party ran but was engulfed in the explosion as it crashed to the ground. Luckily, party was saved by allies of Mog. They introduced themselves as the Warrior, Rem, and Vivi. After some discussion, Cairja discovered that Mog seemed to know more about the world and the shadow man than he was willing to say. After some pushing, Mog turned and floated away to a cave. Party and their new allies followed after him.
Inside the cave, party together journeyed down to find Mog who had already went ahead. Eventually, they arrived in a large yet dark room. Most of party went ahead and encountered the Tonberries who lived within the cave. Sensing danger, those who went ahead avoided them and explored part of the cave. Tal, who was left behind, went to check out the Tonberries. This resulted in one stabbing them and absorbing their soul into their lantern. Nakai, who had seen it all, grabbed Tal's body and relayed to party what happen. Party quickly went to inspect the Tonberry and the lantern and concluded that Tal's soul was trapped inside. Cairja used a spell to steal the lantern but a strange, green aura attacked them. Palamedes, in an attempt to save them, forced the aura into a skeleton. Afterwards, Tal's soul was returned into their body and party moved forward, heading further in.
Eventually, party reached a large door with high amounts of heat emitting from it. After entering, party saw Mog standing next to a large crystal. In front of them, a flaming beast known as Ifrit stood in their way. Party engaged in combat against Ifrit, successfully defeating him. After winning over the beast, party walked up to the large crystal and Mog. After a few brief moments, Palamedes poked the crystal, causing it to reverberate. In a bright flash, party found themselves back at home. Left with a peaceful message and white moogle fur.
