Raiders of the Serpent Sea Chapter 3-2

Plot Synopsis

**Odin was previously known as Tyr

Some of my players wrote up short journals of this session! Heres what they recorded

We met a Zephernite named Sander Jones after we dispatched the bandits. He gives me a hardy handshake before accompanying us to Thor's abode. A woman named Siif welcomes us in for the night. Odin seems to know her, and they and Thor catch up during dinner - elk stew. Siif tells me about a sect of witches that are also after this spear, and I offer our services to clear them out before learning that they wanted us to do that anyway before they can part with their part of the spear.

Much else of the conversation floats over my head, but Siif then mentions that Tanmayta's (and Kalia's?) magic reminds her of someone she hasn't been able to contact for a while. Tanmayta offers to contact At'ena for Siif's sake... and then it gets really bright outside. We find a golden tree with platinum flowers growing from it, but it suddenly withers before restoring itself to life... and it shines so brightly it exposes a horde of shadows! Could this be the witch's work? These shadows swarm us with magical auras of cold before the gargantuan one summons a snowstorm so large it coats everything I can see in a dangerous flurry. Thankfully we manage to beat it, but I'm exhausted.

We find ourselves back at the dinner table? And... there's a raging blizzard outside.
I couldn't stop the storm again.
I'm cold. I haven't felt this cold since that storm.
I wonder if it's taboo to take cooking tips from a Von Otto.
It was a horrible week to dress as a witch.
It's a shame that I can't eat the good kind of meat.
I'm getting homesick.
I hope I'm not taking too many covers.
I should just go to bed.

So I've had a weird time since my last log... We got to a house and there was this lady that Odin knew. Somehow she knew we wanted the tip of the spear. I think her name is Siph or Syf maybe. She's a big hater of Odin cause he did a bunch of lying, which people don't typically like. We met Odin's son, who seemed nice, and we made tasty dinner. They told us about some witches that were bad and Odin talked about as-guard? coming back, which sounds interesting. It turns out the big lady from before is a frost giant spirit (I think I got that right) and works for the witches, I dunno why she gave us the part of the spear.. Anyway, Sith said I had the mark of At'ena, and that At'ena survived some event. I don't know why she said that.. we tried to ask At'ena about it and this big tree appeared. Before that though, they told us we had to make deals with the witches to get the spear tip.. So back to the big tree, it was glowy. The tree like died but then reached towards me for some reason and almost grew again-but then I got distracted by these shadow monsters that showed up. They were really cold and stuff but Tanmayta (I think that's his name) exploded which was really cool, it was all like *boom* and then a bunch of them were gone and there was only the big one left. After we beat up the big one I was back at the table eating dinner with everyone, so I think I might've fallen asleep, though I was really cold when I woke up. I went and looked outside and it was snowing-on a scale of one to thirteen I'd say around a nine. They let us sleep there, which was nice, since I haven't gotten to rest since I met my adventurers. It seems like the next step will be to go see the witches so that these two will give us their piece of the spear, but I'm still not sure about the memory mystery. I think all these people have been mentioning it maybe? Much love, Kalia

Today, I ended up finally finding the adventure I came here for. I discovered a party of adventurers, an older gentleman named Odin, a lizard sorceresses named Tippi, a nomad named Kalia, and an a'tenite named Tanmayta.. With them was a small chimera pet, and young boy with glowing green eyes. Odin seems to have reincarnating family members, whom are related to Freya, the goddess of this place whom is one with A'tena. As to why? Its a mystery that I care not to think too hard about. Thinking is for those Vormaxians, not so much me. It'll come in due time. Regardless, their appearance would explain the serpent as that was part of their old world. However, it seems that we fought off a spectral vision of shades that sought to usher in a winter of sorts. I say it was a vision, but the effects of that exchange were very real. I have never been so cold in my life. I nearly died. Can't be a hero if you die in the process. Anyways, I need to get warmer clothes if today was any indication.

We are only beginning our quest to recover parts of a broken sword. I don't really know why it's important, but it seems to be related to Odin. Perhaps I can ask him later. I should be getting off to rest. We got some Witches to slay tomorrow
