Plot Synopsis
After the events and revelations of the previous session,t eh party regroups in Rani'ake's manor to discuss the information they found. Investigating the journal entries left behind, the final entry was written only two days ago. Jessie picked up on the scent of who wrote it and found them to still be in the house. Climbing the stairs the party preps for a confrontation as they enter Rani's workshop.
Inside they find have the walls covered in deep blue ever shifting tendrils. Int he center stands what was once Rani'ake, now fully assimilated by abysslings. The fight ensues, with more abysslings spawning from the tendrils along the wall. With careful observation for Cyrus, the group discovered their vulnerability to salt with Otis stepping in to grab the salt infused paint he perceived in his divine vision. With the aid of Cyrus, Kessel and Jia deliver the final blow, severing the abysslings head from its grotesque form.
But all was not well. Rani'ake still remains dead and Kan without her lover. Cyrus, wishing to aid in Rani'ake's passing, cast Last Request on the body, not realizing the target was an abyssling. Thousands upon thousands of sounds batter his mind giving one command, ASSIMILATE.
Otis, not wishing to see Kan and Rani'ake part, calls upon his god At'ena to intervene. As fate would have it, the Lady of the Web heard his pleas and gave Rani'ake the one thing she needed; time. Her body and mind being restored to before she was infected, she has two days to live before her soul must go to the Infero. Otis and Ephraim begin a plot to extend this deadline, seeking audience with the The One who Conquers All, Anpu.
But two days is plenty of time to have a wedding. The party returns to town with Rani'ake. Regrouped at Hirani tavern, the party looks out as the sun sets below the horizon, the lovers pulled together through strings of fate.
