Plot Synopsis

The party arrives at Hirani tavern, a seaside open air venue, to meet with their hire-er. One by one they all make introductions and re-introductions, before realizing their client has yet to make herself known. Sitting in the center of the room in an elegant sundress, Kan Lesika greets the party with eyes full of wonder. Getting past her child like excitement, Kan reads a letter she received from her close friend Rani'ake Vava requesting to hire adventurers to preform a wellness check. The famed painter hasn't been seen for two weeks causing excitement among the towns folk and worry within Kan. With Kan to lead them, the party heads for the market to pick up supplies and learn of Rani'ake's last visit two weeks ago.

Upon arrival int eh bustling market place, the group splits up to learn more about Rani's last visit. They discover that she often buys pain from one Gerard Road. They also learned that Rani'ake's painting style is heavily reliant on the use of salt in the paint. On the way to Gerard's shop, the perfectly normal dog hears rumors related to Kan and Rani's relationship. Pressing Kan on the issue, she becomes guarded and apprehensive. To her delight the, questions are dropped soon after. After leaving Gerard's shop, a stock runner approaches Kan, saying her father, Rin Lesika head of the merchants guild, is looking for her. Handing the supplies over to the party, Kan leaves after telling them where to find Rani's manor. Before departing she hands a letter to Fallyn, asking them to give it to Rani the next they see her.

Following Kan's directions, the party arrives at Rani'ake's manor to find it empty and void of life. Making their way in, the party find a wide array of paintings all around the building. Some of landscapes, some portraits. The party notices a strange trend that as the paintings get newer, the details become less refined and less and less salt is used. Strewn about the party also finds journal entries of Rani'ake, her proclaiming her love for someone. The notes quickly deteriorate, leaving her status unknown.
