Plot Synopsis
The party gathers in Ravinrunn to sign up for the races. They look at some of the other race groups, and find that there is a group of Centralian nobles planning to race. They have won for the last five years in a row. While the party is trying to find out how to improve their own chances, they find a group of pirates and try to siphon the knowledge of their captain. This fails, but the captain - Dolores Morrow - respects their moxie, and invites them to make an alliance. The party is sent to investigate the Centralian nobles' group. Serena sends her soul into their lower decks, and finds that there's some kind of strange psionic thing attached to their engine. Later that day, the nobles try to bribe them to throw the race, but the party refuses. They go to scout around the track, finding several intentionally set traps and hazards... but also one strange patch of bluish slime that seems to be spreading.
They report this to the authorities, who promise they're going to go check it out, and then go to sleep. The next day, the race begins, and the party pretty soon engages with the nobles' ship, planning to commandeer it when they get the chance.
