A Specter of Torment; Game 8: Tools of War [Aurolis, The Rhine, Jaern]
Plot Synopsis
The game started with the party entering an odd arena-like room, with a being known as Karma. This was the Caller in Darkness. Karma, seeming much like a child, revealed that Governor Donovan Coral was behind the attacks, with Karma not fully understanding it was killing people. It also revealed a strange thing called a Dark Well in its arena. Poor Hennessey the chicken was used to test it, and it corrupted the chicken until it had to be put down. Hendrick went into a pocket plane with Karma while the rest went back to Aurolis.
While at Aurolis the party found Angelicajimena working to fix the pillars they destroyed earlier. They told her about Donovan, and she told them about what his plan likely was, including using the light pillars to create an alchemy circle and sacrifice any and all living things within the triangle to restore his philosopher's stone. This left the party in a predicament of where to go…
