Plot Synopsis
As alarms blare and guards rush in the party heads to the elevator that took them to Nefarious's office, only to find it booby trapped with runes. Raiden manages to leap out, but the runes seem to be duds and Raiden disappears. They head through the facility, meeting little resistance, but one by one they start to disappear (Most randomly, Cyrus after taking an obscene amount of drugs). Meanwhile, Raiden drops back down into the elevator to find that everyone else has been knocked unconscious. Upon finding the ground floor full of guards, Raiden keeps the elevator between floors by stabbing his sword through the wall (and takes the crystal off of Volke, just in case). Once Brian wakes up, he casts telekinesis on the elevator to more easily maintain its position.
Over time everyone wakes up, and finding no viable exit strategies, Annabelle DIs to Mishra to turn the elevator shaft into a giant cannon to launch them into the sky. Unfortunately, the elevator simply falls straight down back into the cannon, exploding at the bottom. Fortunately, nobody is hurt, and all the guards on the basement floor are killed in the impact. Seeing a line of cells with a single prisoner, party free him to learn he's a blacksmith named Daryl, who was kidnapped because he didn't abide by the "Blacksmith Industry Standard Pricing" which he considered obscenely high (30gp for a dagger, etc).
Fulton extracting themselves and Daryl to Pequod, they see the Chemical Plant start to crumble as a massive submarine emerges from underneath it and dives away. Returning to the Zanzibar, Volke gets the crystal back from Raiden and gives it to Verdun for study. Rilo and Raiden have a discussion about the fact that Raiden joined to keep an eye on Rilo (eavesdropped by everyone else, much to their chagrin). At night over codec, however, Raiden reveals to Rilo that he actually joined to keep an eye on Diamond Daggers to make sure they don't get a superweapon or turn evil. Meanwhile, Annabelle tries to study the crystal herself and is told no by Verdun, and both Annabelle and Raiden seem geared up to steal the crystal in the night as session ends.
