Diamonds Never Die I (Ley'Ork)

Plot Synopsis

Most of the party is assembled via aircraft and teleportation to the flagship of Diamond Daggers, the Zanzibar, though Cyrus pretends to be the copilot for one of the aircraft initially. Brian arrives by popping out of the ocean after what he says is 400 years on the sea floor. The new members meet Sadie Harding for their briefing, though Volke and Annabelle are nowhere to be found, the former having left to fish, and the latter pretending to be the shadow of one of her zombies. After finally wrangling all of party together, Sadie explains that an independent contact informed her of an important package being moved by a figure known as "The Watcher" (Not the PC, instead it's a guy with a watch for a head) in cooperation with a number of small criminal syndicates. Details are shaky, but it seems like something big, and the party is sent to go meet with the contractor to get more information.

Arriving in the Ley'Ork city of Courtsland, the party makes their way to Bob's Bar, where they find the informant to be a flirtatious dragonkin by the name of Fantas. Fantas explains that the package was stolen from an archeological dig in Dahabu, and arrived by ship a few days before. Fantas couldn't get close enough to know more, but he was able to start a psychic tracker on Watcher, which he shares with Brian, allowing Brian to get a sense of the direction he's in. While they're at the bar, Volke presents gifts to all the new members of Diamond Daggers, including giving F-Eight Kafka's Metamorphosis and the Twilight series (Unreadable since they're in English), and Rilo a horse whose death will cause Rilo to immediately be fired.

Finally setting off in search of Watcher, the party heads east until they find a skyscraper that Brian says his tracker is leading towards. With a Military Protocol roll, Raiden is able to deduce that the place is a front, with most of the guards and security concentrated in the lobby and first floor. Cyrus has everyone get in his bag of holding before teleporting through a 4th story window to a guard, with Cyrus and Volke stealthily making their way through the floor to the stairs. Seeing more guards and cameras, Annabelle carries the parry bag and combines her flight and amorphous form to climb the underside of the stairwell undetected. Reaching the top, Brian gives a first set of guards a hallucination, making them think they're standing slightly to the left of where they should so party can simply walk past them, with a second set of guards in front of double doors being taken down by Volke and Cyrus. Opening the doors, party finds Watcher speaking with the eclectic heads of the many criminal syndicates. Watcher orders the gang leaders to kill the intruders before flying out the window with his ankle watch jet boots (yes, you read that correctly). As the session draws to a close, the party gears up for a fight.
