A Specter of Torment; Game 1: The Price of Doing Business [Fort Trine, The Rhine, Jaern]
Plot Synopsis
The session started with the party exploring Fort Trine and its cinnabar mines. They met with the hirer, Governor Donovan Corale, a seemingly friendly very old shellbearer who ran the town with a penchant for collecting stuff from Cahyali. He’s a fan of Ley’Ork. He gave the party a basic rundown of his understanding of the situation before setting them off to explore the town and gather information. The party determined that everyone taken was in some way a landowner. That night, while resting in the inn, the party was briefly attacked by the Caller in Darkness, or at least something that appeared similar, being a dark cloud covered in faces and odd tendrils. After a brief ceremony to try and ease the fears of the people, Cairja and Ignis led an interrogation of the Governor, as parts of his story did not add up, including almost sending them in the wrong direction and getting nervous when hearing the beast was to the west, on his own island. Truth Scan was very helpful. They have more questions for the Governor before they plan to head west and deal with the Caller.
