Fate of Chains: Rozmakhigrad VI [Nahrul, Cahyali; Pthora, Cahyali]

Plot Synopsis

Party is hired on the mission “Unbroken Chains” for the Government of Ruefang to rescue one of their diplomats, Mung Chiang, who is imprisoned by Pthoran forces in Nahrul. The party is deployed through a portal to the coast of Nahrul before going through the forest. They quickly run into a monster, a shadowy deer, before following it. They see a monster try to attack it before a massive version of the deer appears and kills the monster.

The treetop-sized shadow deer creature stares at party before Luin tries to talk to it in another language. They speak for a bit and Luin explains that they are just trying to get through the forest.

Ninnguang then spoke to it and made a deal: She would teach it blood magic in return for a favor or information to be cached at a later time. The creature offers some parting words and guarantees them safe passage through the forest. They proceeded to not be attacked by anything throughout their journey through the forest and arrived at the fort which was holding Mung Chiang.

The fort, controlled and operated by the Pthorans, outside the city of Dzienne, was very ramshackle and hastily built to the point of looking like it will collapse at the slightest breeze.

Party proceeded to infiltrate the fort and split up into three groups: Vulvenaar went outside, Feare, Ningguang, Aria, and Ignis went and talked to a soldier, and the rest stood there in the lobby. After some developments and threatening a guard in the middle of the fort, Ningguang held the cast of Tears of the Blood God, but it was actually an illusion of the spell and it would create ominous effects until cast and it caused a panic. Vulvenaar had gotten some info from the Pthorans and proceeded to convince them to leave because “Tears of the Blood God” and they fled into the forest.

The group interrogating the soldier then got more aggressive and got him to lead them to Mung Chiang's cell. After freeing him, he thanked the “mere mortals” and turned into light, ascending to the heavens above. Mung Chiang has no divine influence, and that act was purely theatrical (idk ask Maddox lol).

Party then fled through the forest under the distraction of a calamitous spell being cast. As they were fleeing, the fort rumbled angrily and the spell dissipated harmlessly, only causing massive panic, of course.
