Hook

Adventurers needed to help banish a threat that could destroy Jaern. / Adventurers needed to protect our operations.

Plot Synopsis

This started as two games with me running the first hook and Preston running the second and then merged. The adventurers on my game were offered magical compensation and the others were offered a monthly cash income.
My adventurers traveled to the temple while the others set up some defenses in the same temple. Each group fought some stuff and they eventually ran into each other. The defending group would not let the others get close and they talked for a while. Some of the adventurers switched sides but they could not reach a compromise due to personal issues so the attacking group eventually left.
Tanis then returned with the employer and out cheated the defending group and completed the mission.
The results of the game are that a divine artifact of Tarus was invoked to banish the evils of technology from Jaern. Various gods offered their input with most supporting the move and the only one against it was Rudri so it was allowed to happen.

Basically the results are there is now a magical divine field surrounding Jaern and some other planes. This stops all technology within the area to cease functioning unless it is magically enchanted to enhance its functionality. This must be a permanent enchantment, once a day will not suffice. And the enchantment must assist what the device does so a effect Lamp gun will not work, but a +1 gun will. This field also subtly steers away technological craft from the orbit of Jaern, navigation systems will just fail to set a correct course or some other convienient malfunction. The other planes affected by this are ones in which the Jaernian gods hold sway, essentially it is up to the GM wether this affects their plane or not.
