Plot Synopsis
The party (minus Lark, who was traumatized from dying), after debating contracts and obligations, follows Detective Asten to the explosion site after reassurance that they would be paid. Upon arrival, they find that the prison itself has vanished, and in its place is a field with a princess tower, which has bars on the window and no entrances or exits. More pressing, however, is the red dragon that is fighting and killing the police. Vijaya performs an incant to allow the party to fly, and after everyone gets hit by the dragon’s fire breath, the party spreads out and begins dealing damage. They also sent the detective to teleport the supposed princess out of the tower, but he could not teleport out and so was stuck there with the woman. At some point during combat, the party debated seducing the dragon before deciding against it. NPC and Vijaya dealt a considerable amount of damage, killing the dragon before it rose up again in a 2D form. After a nasty tail attack, Eri and Vijaya almost go unconscious and fall to their deaths, though Slez manages to heal Eri and Vijaya successfully blocks damage through turtle shelling. Erynn gets very near death, and Orucan gets clawed and falls to his death, landing on the roof of the tower. Lark manages to cocoon the dragon, giving the party time to heal up and prepare their attacks, killing the dragon. Its death caused it to be ripped in half and it deposited around 150 unconscious people, mostly prisoners and the occasional guard or policeman. The tower also disappeared, leaving the woman floating and Erynn moved to catch Detective Asten.
The sapphire draconic lineage woman introduces herself as Queen May, the queen of the world. She repeatedly asks the party to be her subjects, and the party quickly comes to the conclusion, and subtly confirms with the detective, that she is both insane and the second experiment. Upon learning this, Eri gets turned into a balloon person after trying to attack May. The party convinces her to help revive Orucan, who requests and receives 100 chocolate gold coins (as well as the rest of the party, minus Eri) and insurance. After a side discussion to play along as they are unwilling to do anything until paid, May pops Eri to revert her form, leaving her traumatized, but leaves her with a blue dragon handkerchief so that her new “champions” can find her in the future, and poofs into confetti.
They return to HTUC, where Steel pays them 200 gold for their dragon endeavor and promises to pay 800 gold upon the containment of May. Orucan negotiates for the party to have fair compensation for any permanent bodily harm, to be determined case by case. He then goes and gets drunk and beats a drunkard at dice, taking his 1 gold savings and buying a round of drinks for party members who want any. The next morning, Detective Asten informs the party that May’s handkerchief symbol had replaced the banners on a nearby museum, and that she is likely after an artifact located inside.
