People needed to assist in a boarding and assault mission.

Plot Synopsis

The adventurers arrive at the Dancing Draco to meet Marcus Clarke, a man wearing an obvious military uniform, though not one any of the group is familiar with. He states that his people are battling with a race called the Talarians on a world called Aileron, and for the moment, things are not going well. Their ships have been forced back, and they are attempting a daring mission to try to surprise the enemy. He states simply that Aileron has no ground, and that the fighting involves airships and suspended platforms, and that falling is typically terminal. The group needs to board an enemy platform from below while two friendly airships act as a distraction, attacking it from above. The platform is then to be commandeered. The adventurers agree to the payment set forth, and they depart through a heavily guarded portal, arriving at the Selenic transit hub, from which they are taken to Aileron.

Once they arrive, they board a smaller airship, escorted by two larger military vessels and head out. A few days later, they arrive at the enemy platform, their ship dropping back to allow the other two to engage. Their smaller ship pulls up to the lower section of the platform and they sneak aboard, entering the lower section of the platform, where they encounter several Talarian crewmen, and several soldiers. Those are dealt with, and they move upwards, into a storage area, where two lifts are set to carry supplies onto the main deck. The group plays around with the lifts, eliminating another very surprised soldier, before moving out onto the main deck. Here, they encounter numerous troops, most of them focused on dealing with the circling airships, or manning the platform’s ballistae. Virdon releases several fireballs, while some of the group takes control of one of the ballistae and fires it back at one of the others. When it becomes clear to the surviving Talarians that this battle is lost, they begin to retreat to the moored airship to try and escape, but Claude boards it and kills the driver, managing to maneuver it back into the dock. The adventurers signal the Selenic airships that the platform is secured as they check the entire structure for any others, finding none. The Selenic commander moves the occupation crew aboard, and is quite thrilled that they were able to capture an enemy airship as well. The adventurers head back to the gateway platform, where they are each rewarded with a rare Aileron Aurora Gem, which are quite valuable. They then a transported back to Jaern.
