In the Light of a Crimson Moon 1 [Gilded Slumber] (Perringham, Shinneok)

Plot Synopsis

The party, initially split doing their own things, wandered the streets of Perringham on the night of a lunar eclipse. Each of them had their vision darkened, and when they awoke they were in beds they don’t remember crawling into. Cel woke up on their ship, leaving to find any other people. They first bumped into Ujyaku on the streets. The rest of the party all woke up in an inn, checking to make sure nothing was stolen.

The group noticed a strange music playing, deciding to follow the sound. Listening closer, they heard a strange pattering sound, giving chase. They continually caught glimpses of a strange beast with leathery skin stretched across its body, but never catching full sight of the creature. While chasing after this thing, Virso climbed up the rooftops to better chase the being. Ujyaku tried to read while running and fell (hilariously.)

Chasing after the monster, wacky hijinks ensued. Virso shot a ladder, Chang almost accidentally threw Cel off the roof, and Chang jumped off the roof to give further chase. The creature crawled into the water and slowly crawled back out, starting combat.

The fight was tough, and while all of the party survived, it was by the skin of their teeth with Cel getting the final blow. Thankfully, Ujyaku had accidentally summoned small circles of healing that could be used to heal the party and also kept the monster in a loop of healing and dying. The creature’s remains drained into the nearby ocean while the party continued to follow the music.

Eventually, they found a group of odd people in red hoods. They stole a bottle from Ujyaku and used it to reform the being. Reme spoke with the people in the hoods and decided to make a deal with them. He then passed out. The strange group of robed people debated with Chiang for a while, but the T’orite could not provide definitive evidence of wrongdoings. As such, part of the party stayed while two members went back to town. Something still feels wrong…
