Fuel Fools, Game 7: Can We Get Much Hired? (Chongbai, Ruefang, Cahyali)

Plot Synopsis

The game started with the party finally making their way back to Chongbai by boat. They first tried to infiltrate the train by simply buying a ticket. Unfortunately, the only person they could find who was selling tickets was “selling” them for a very high price. After some shenanigans involving threatening the guy only for him to hide behind a mechanical shutter. The party decided to give up on this venture. Unfortunately, before someone could come to them about their money troubles and propose a solution to gain a lot of money quickly, the party decided the most logical solution was to get hired by Zuanshi to work on the train during its departure. Feare used his forging skills to whip up some resumes and profiles for something he called LinkedIn, a special hiring and exposure group for adventurers named after the famous adventurer Link. Daryl and his two zombies, Tombi and Spanish Mike, were hired on the train as janitors, with the interviewer liking Daryl’s many ideas about diversity in hiring and the possibility of promoting Zuanshi Steelworks as a place for all to work at, including those with disabilities or certain conditions. Feare, Blue, (and a missing Fianon) were hired onto the security team for the train at the last minute. After their interviews, it was revealed that the new hires of the security team were treated to a specially made Lithicore item as a treat. The hiring manager for the janitorial team liked Daryl so much that he gave Daryl and his crew their own passes to obtain something of their design. Spanish Mike had a robotic exoskeleton resembling a golden rabbit created for him. Meanwhile, Tombi took a model of a Ley’Ork airship and Daryl took a carrot juicer. Blue, Feare, (and presumably Fianon) took some sort of enhancement to themselves or their gear.

The party rested at a local inn known as the Han House, run by an elderly man presumably named Han. Han shot first at giving a deal to the party and they took it. Unfortunately, there were no more Solo rooms, so the party had to bunker up. Daryl decided to petrify one of his pet chickens, believing himself capable of selling it to a rich person on the train as a “lifelike statue.” Dressing for work the next day, they arrived early, around 8:00 AM, to be assigned their jobs. Feare, Blue (and presumably Fianon) were given certain parts of the train to patrol while Daryl and his undead crew kept the place clean as the janitorial staff. This would soon change as some unexpected visitors arrived…
