Along Treacherous Lines V - Mission Impossible [S&S]

Plot Synopsis

Seeing the narrow streets of the Iron District, the party elects to abandon their Veiled carts and search on foot. Raiden disguises himself as a guard using his uniform, while Kentaro, Rilo, and Wisteria slip into the sewers. Yugon, admitting he isn’t suited for stealth or subterfuge, stays behind near the carts. Meanwhile, Cyrus runs into Timber and the two leverage Timber’s reputation to gain access into the Iron District. They find Raiden not too long after and join up with Yugon to go topside.

The two groups converge on the elevator up to where Zuanshi Wei is being held, and run into a few problems on the way. The group in the sewers bumps into mutated rat-like beasts which attack, while the group above encounters Sunflight Tsorren. He doesn’t make much of the party, and is just a little rude to them. They find the house where Wei is, well guarded. Yugon distracts the guards, giving Cyrus just enough time to lockpick the gate to Wei’s house.

He sets off an arcane alarm, placing the entire district on red alert. A scuffle ensues with the guards, and they have to fight their way out with Wei now in tow. Down below, Kentaro, Rilo, and Wisteria have emerged from the sewers to see a group of Raikougan students - including Kentaro’s friend and roommate, Hikari - being marched in for processing by guards. Noting the red alert alarms, they decide to attack and free the students.

As Cyrus, Yugon, Raiden, Timber, and Wei come down from the upper district, they join up with the rest of the party and make a break for the exit. However, they are intercepted by General Hu Lan, astride a war beast, with a group of Blood Hawks at his side…
