Plot Synopsis

After preparing significantly to battle Tikatul, the spirit who inhabits the tree, the party ambushes it through throwing various grafted fruit bombs and some C4 they stole off the dead Lithicore employees. Notably, the battle sets some of the plants in the temple on fire. An epic battle ensues as the party destroys the crystalline barrier protecting the spirit, breaks its trunk, and forces the spirit out into the open. As they continue to attack the spirit, now in the form of a slow-moving gargantuan slime, the damage the party does seems to affect the surrounding nature. This sends large branches down from above as the sanctum’s tree dies and kills the surrounding trees and wildlife. In an attempt to escape, Tikatul attempts to inflict the party with a wide variety of curses, but fails to make any progress since the party utilizes their golden fruit to recover from these near-instantly.

Eventually, the party finishes off the spirit, killing it. This has the effect of killing a radius several miles of the surrounding forest (as Tikatul was tied closely to the surrounding forest.) Regardless of this destruction and the damage done to the sanctum of the wood temple, Qing Long, the inhabiting wood dragon, is woken up. Qing uses some magic to heal the party’s wounds from fighting Tikatul and travels outside to meet Huangdi. Huangdi and the party fill in Qing on the status of the world (and of course the dangers of the train) as she is clueless to the happenings of the last few-thousand years. Qing offers the party rewards for dispelling the spirit and waking her up.
