Clouds and Mist Riches and Honor Intro Part 3
Plot Synopsis
Progressing further into the underground laboratory, our intrepid adventurers find themselves in the middle of a single hallway with one large door at the far end, and two smaller doors leading towards it. Opting to explore the smaller doors, they discover a room with strange technological devices, which Lee manages to discern as computing boxes of some sort.
After an hour of trying to guess passwords and usernames, the computers lock the party out for having too many failed attempts, they continue on to another room that appears to be locked. After brute forcing the lock open, the door creaks open to reveal a room with moss-covered and moldy notebooks. Interested, Raiden examines one of the notebooks and finds a date on one of the notebooks listed as 4/17/10081, only a few weeks before the party had entered the laboratory and long after it had been abandoned. Taking the notebook, the party continues on to the large door.
Upon opening the door, the party comes face to face with a large white tiger who looks to be partially composed of plant matter. In his last moments of sanity, he reveals what happened in the lab, how they fell sick as a result of their experiments, how they caused the leyline sickness uptick in the area, and how everyone signed onto this project believing in it being the honorable thing to do. He reveals that he has tried to die in the time that he had turned into this wood creature, but the corruption from the leyline has kept him from doing so.
Losing control, he flies into a rampage and begins attacking the party harnessing the power of the corrupted leyline to drain the life force of the party members. However, with power, precision,ramming, and a rank 16 insta-kill psionic spell, the party managed to put down the creature and restore some semblance of peace to Lo.
Saying their final goodbyes, the party packs up on a cart with Ying before making the move back to Chongbai, during which they decide to do some shopping in a combination gun store pet shop. After a brief interaction with Zhang Quingzou and a member of the Commission of Trade, the group of Raiden, Taka, and Yugon decide to hold a meeting during the Festival of Blades to discuss the contents of the notebook they had obtained…
