Adventurers need to retrieve item...

Plot Synopsis

The party was told that they needed to recover an item that had been stolen from the employer's associate. This item turned out to be the torso of the head of the family. A rival family had stolen and dismembered the corpse out of spite. The employer wanted it returned so there could be a proper burial. A map was provided to the estate of the rival family and a price was agreed upon.

The party then went through a portal and went to the estate. They reached it approximately night fall. While attempting to sneak onto the premises, they were attacked by dogs. Inbred was severely injured during combat but was revived.

Tanis decided to investigate the house first. Through various actions he managed to get the mistress of the house in a great deal of trouble and the head of the household was convinced she was a witch. At this time Inbred decided to knock on the door and demand to speak to the master of the house because bad things will happen if he doesn't. Assuming that the stranger at the door was the wife's accomplice the house staff subdued Inbred.

Meanwhile, Dom was interrogating the wife, who had been locked in the root cellar as a witch. She had no idea what he was talking about. In fact none of the household seemed to have any idea what the hell they were talking about.

Outside Riot and Olerno were making friends with a couple of dogs that survived the previous fight. Finally the party went to investigate the family graveyard behind the house. It contained a mausoleum. Upon searching they found a hidden passage. While exploring the tunnel, Dom was rooted to the ceiling. He managed to dig himself out and hover above the ground until such time as the pain made him fly to town and plant himself in a window box.

Tanis continued the search and found the torso. It had been chained to an alter type thing with a spike through its heart. Upon trying to flip the torso off the alter Tanis was scythed but managed to avoid it. Then they witchsmellered the room to discover that the torso and the spike glowed. The spike glowed faintly divine and the torso glowed closest to demonic (out of divine, demonic, and elemental)

At this point the party said, "Screw it." and left. They rescued Inbred but forgot to retrieve his holy weapon.

Post game events:
The Centralia Mages Guild now has pictures of Dom Foran planted in a window box for those who wish to view it. Inbred lost his holy weapon. The party failed to retrieve the torso and was only paid part of the agreed amount.

Noteworthy Postgame Events
