Looking for adventurers to retrieve information from a library.

Plot Synopsis

The party through various means meandered to a quiet shady alleyway behind the Drain Identity Bar, a rather intriguing bar in Morn. There they met with their employer, who spent the time hiding in shadows and being highly paranoid of spies everywhere. They were tasked to infiltrate the palace library of Charity, to attempt to recover information on the location of hidden prisons on the island.

Naturally, his suspicions were well founded, for as the party would find out when they met again (in Rougtero) to claim their payment, it was discovered that the original shady fellow had been quietly murdered by the royal spy system.

Our adventurers, blissfully unaware at the time, set out on the rather short journey between the cities, arriving in Charity at about midday. Being relatively non-adventurer looking, they were waved through without a problem, and proceeded to busy themselves in town as normal people. Some went to the market, some of the taverns, where eventually they would all meet up for the night and plot their dastardly thievery.

Taking a literal Giant Stride at midnight, Cal brought the party from the tavern room to a balcony of the castle, from where they quietly snuck their way through a noblewoman's rooms, several passages, a stairwell and a pair of poor librarians to find the library itself. There, they discovered a number of things, such as a demonic tome and a suspicious amount of books dedicated to protecting oneself against the adventurer threat.

Taking only the demon tome, a ritual candle, and making a copy of a map with a hidden prison labeled, they proceeded to hastily evacuate the area via portal bag to the Rougtero sepulcher, from where they lazed about in town for a few days before meeting up again at the intended location.

They noticed that the one who came to meet them (quite shady as well) didn't quite match the original employer, and refused for a while to hand over the map; eventually they were forced to Dominate him, whereupon they found out the truth of original shady's disappearance. Regardless, the copy of the map was handed over, silver was 'received', and the poor fellow was sent to play in traffic.
