Mercenaries wanted to seize a ship and take cargo. Applicants meet at the Centralia Docks 1 hour after dusk.
Adventures meet at the docks around dusk, some show up early, some late. A man named Arthur is holding a sign reading "Mercenaries" in Ferric and Paroli. After everyone arrives, he motions everyone into a private room in the dockside bar. He explains the the mission doesn't have to do with the postings because his employer wants to make sure no one know what they will be up to. Arthur says the real mission is to break into a man's house and steal a small wooden box with a small red gem on the latch. Upon getting the box, he warns, do not open it. He also explains that he expects everyone to remain quiet about the entire mission and is willing to pay everyone 2,000 sp upon getting the box. There will also be a 1,000sp bonus if it is done quietly. They will be bring the box back to a small shack in the forest when they have it. He tells them where it house is and they leave on their way.
The party walks to the location of the house, which is in the artist's district of Centralia. The house is surrounded by many similar looking houses. They note the front and back doors and the many windows on the house. Mia decided to take a closer look and cast "Disconnect Soul." She enters the house a takes a look around. Downstairs is a Kitchen and a Reading Room with a fireplace and two chairs. The man who lives in the house to sitting on a chair reading on front of the fire. Upstairs is a room full on paintings, some completed, others unfinished. There is also a bedroom with a chimney, chair, bed, and a night stand with a small wooden box with a red gem in the latch. Next to this table is a window.
Mia returns to her body and the party and explains what she saw. The party quickly comes up with a plan involving Fle distracting the man inside the house while Eldain uses stickum to climb the wall and break into the window and steal the box. The others will hide in alleys and watch for anyone.
Fle walks to the house and knocks on the door. The man answers and Fle asks for directions to the art gallery. Fle acts confused and wastes more time. While Fle was walking to the door, Eldain was watching from the alley. As he passed, Eldain casts stickum and climbs the wall. He puts duct tape on the window and muffle the sound and breaks the window (requiring 2 PWR checks, which he makes). He enters the house and places the box in his bag and leaves (requiring 2 more PWR checks, which he again makes). He climbs back down the building as Fle finishing ask for directions and heads back to the majority of the party. As Eldain is walking down the alley he notices the chimney of the house he broke into on fire, on closer inspection, he realizes it is a fire elemental. He runs.
The fire elemental loses sight of him, but regains it a launches a fireball. After which everyone begins to run away. Siilex attempts to pinpoint the location of the fire elemental based on where the house is a where to fireball landed 3 round prior. (A 6 die INT check, failed by about 20, leads him to positively believe it is in the wrong location.) She cast "Halt Time" on this location. Feeling the he got him, he leaves.
The party meets back up and head to the shack in the forest. Arthur is their make pop corn and cautiously answers the door. He gives everyone 2,000sp. He also offers to pay everyone 5,000sp for a year retainer fee. Fle, Quaoar, Eldain, and Mia accept this offer.
