Notable Geography

Cahyali’s Revenge: This oceanic ridge spans north to south. The massive fault features undersea volcanoes, frequent natural disasters, and intense winds that take frigid eastern air from Pthora, warms it with intense geothermal vents, and deposits it on the western coasts of Dahabu.

Zhùfu Reef: a large coral reef off the coast of Ruefang, its colorful peaks can be seen from the surface of the water

Religion in Cahyali

Cahyali worships the same pantheon as Jearnians do, but have ascribed different names for each of the gods. Newcomers to Cahyali will often be met with confusion if they refer to “At'ena” or “Neptune”, and will shun those who worship these names as heretics, unless it is made clear that they are in fact the same deity that they worship. The structures of their Churches are incredibly similar to the structure found on Jearn, with minor differences. Below is a list of the Cahyalian names of the Jearnian Gods:

  • Anubis - Anpu (Priests are refered to as Anpuians).
  • At'ena - The Lady Seherine (Priests are refered to as Seherites).
  • Isis - Aset (Priests are refered to as Asetites).
  • Neptune - Vahrun (Priests are refered to as Vahrunians). Cahyalians see Vahrun as not only the god of the sea, but of the wind. They believe that Vahrun resides in the deepest depths of Cahyali's Revenge.
  • Orus - Arakh (Priests are referred to as Arakites). Mishra is given the name Aremakh.
  • Osiris - Julius (Priests are refered to as Julians).
  • Ra - The Dawn (Priests are refered to as Priests of Dawn or Dawn-Bringers).
  • Rudri - The Dusk (Priests are refered to as Dusk Priests). Whether there are any Dusk Priests still in Cahyali is debatable, as none have been seen for centuries.
  • Tarus - Hestapheous (Priests are refered to as Hestaphites).
  • T'or - Marutuk (Priests are refered to as the Maru).
  • Almar - Almar (The three non-native Jearnian gods do not have differing names in Cahyali religion. It is unknown what in their history might have influenced this convergence).
  • Vormaxia - Vormaxia (The three non-native Jearnian gods do not have differing names in Cahyali religion. It is unknown what in their history might have influenced this convergence).
  • Zepherin - Zepherin (The three non-native Jearnian gods do not have differing names in Cahyali religion. It is unknown what in their history might have influenced this convergence).

Astronomy of Cahyali

Cahyali orbits the star Ayat.

There are three moons of Cahyali, the closest and brightest one is named Dipha, the second brightest is named Leine. These two moons rise in the East and set in the West. The farthest and dimmest moon is named Fyr and rises West and sets East, in a highly elliptical orbit. Fyr has its own small potato-shaped satellite, named Myn that tumbles around in a quick eclectic orbit. The three moons are a symbol for Seherine (the Cahyalian name for At'ena). The Sherine Seers of Cahyali often use the moons and their positions as signs.

There are two other visible planets in the Ayat System. The brightest is a yellow-green gas giant named Ythern. The other is a purple-blue gas giant with faint rings named Pthri. Between Cahyali and the gas giants lies a thick belt of asteroids that astronomers believe could not form into a planet due to the gravitational forces of Ythern.

Factions of Cahyali

There are five prominent factions in Cahyali: the Oxis Alliance, The Cerulean Moon, the Harena Trade Union of Cahyali (HTUC), The Kinland Order, and the Ystervuis.
