Temporani Ruins

History

After Torandor was destroyed by Jaern, many cities were established on the new planet by dragons. These dragons then created powerful drakos and the Draconic Lineage peoples meant to rule over the surviving humans, elves, dwarves, and whatever else may reside on this planet. The colony of Temporani was one such place. It was ruled by a powerful drako known only as Aemoranth the Light One.

At one point, the entire settlement went missing for a few days. A storm made from deep purple, swirling clouds seemed to completely wipe the city from the island, only for a similar storm to return the city entirely to normal. Not long after this incident, the city had a massive insurrection. Through the combined efforts of the dragonic lineage peoples and the rest of the humanoid races that served under them at the time, they were able to wipe the drakos from the island and establish their own cities elsewhere on Lojem, far away from this terrible cursed city.

For a brief time, in 10081, the city randomly reappeared in place of the ruins. It seems that the brief time in the purple clouds transported the city to the future, only for it to just as mysteriously return to its original time period.

Locations

The Palace - This massive structure used to house Aemoranth the Light One. Over the palace's main entrance hangs the massive skull of a drako. This is thought to be what remains of Aemoranth herself. The front of the palace has a huge balcony overlooking the rest of the ruins. The truly giant palace is an old, musty building slowly rotting away. Still, many adventurers come here in search of any remaining gold that could have been left behind from the ancient times.

The Square - These stone ruins seem to have been a market square established not long after the drakos were overthrown. Unfortunately, it does not appear to have lasted long, as signs indicate those who did not leave the city after its destruction succumbed to a terrible plague, leaving this square as merely a momento of a hopeful time.

The At’enium Sanctuarium - On the outside, this appears to be a simple stone dome with a 20-foot radius. The walls on the outside look cracked, with massive holes able to walk through. Going through these holes, one would find only grass or moss. However, if one activates the proper doorway, they may enter into a small demiplane created by At'ena thousands of years ago. Completely separate from the time and space of Jaern, many who enter experience time-dilation effects, coming out days, or even months after they enter. Some have left the place before they even entered to begin with. Many archeologists have decided to leave the site alone due to it being difficult to work with. The strange demiplane is sometimes compared to a psychedelic experience.
